After 18 months of know nothing much about SEO, SEs i have my site finally show 31 related sites any idea how google shows related sites as the next PR update is comming soon is that help my Page Rank to increase.

most of the related sites I see for my website are sites linking to sites that link to me. I may add that they are the strongest linking sites or pages to sites that link to my site. for example if you have a link from nytimes.com/news than a related site can be either nytimes.com or an authority site that links to nytimes.com
Just what I noticed, not sure at all.
why they are always around 30 shown? G knows!

One more thing, beware of using link exchange, it ould makes your web popularity site up, but it could harm you page rank too

I noticed that if the pages that google shows on related:site are actually related to your site, then your ranking is good, if they are not, then your ranking is not good

If it's worth it to you, go for it. As I said, for me it's a matter of principle. My view is if I have to pay you to get a link I don't need your link. I have plenty of good sites linking to me for free.
