If he were for the money he will be buying stakes in companies like he is doing with biotechnology. He is not doing that but granting money mostlly to non profit organizations. Also most of the research he grant money are for diases that do not have a big market and thats why big pharma do not research or invest on them. I am no Bill fan but If someone do something right we can't take the credit from them.
