Does Google Search negatively impact Adsense?

i put the search box in once but it performed so badly that i took it down after a couple of days. it all depends on the site. but i am yet to hear any success stories with ad sense search...

At the end of the day, a content site needs a facility for the visitor to search the site for the info they can't find through links. Why not use one that pays you? If you don't have people needing to search your page then putting a search box of any kind is on your site is like nailing a cereal bowl to a shoe shop window.
