Default Is it against tos or not?

I've seen "this is an ad-financed service" on some of the popular sites. (like rapidshare.de).

Is it against adsense tos or not? i asked adsense support, but still no reply.

I'm thinking about writing the same thing.

If you only have AdSense on your site, I imagine Google could interpret it as a violation.

Personally, without a response from Google, there is no way I would risk it.

I think even with other advertisers on the site it could be construed as a violation.

You are not supposed to draw undue attention to your ads. By mentioning that your site is maintained because of ads you are doing exactly that.

Personally, I doubt such a disclaimer is going to lead to any more clicks, and if it does, they are likely to be less serious clicks which means less earnings for real clicks.

So I see very little benefit to doing that...

It was a long weekend in the US last weekend, and I know some people have reported it is taking a couple extra days for support requests to be answered, they were probably working on a smaller weekend support staff. You should hopefully receive the reply today.

I got my reply. They say that they will consider this as drawing undue attention.

I remember they had that wording up there ever since last year or something, seems like they got special permission. I can't imagine no one reporting them for over a year.
