Default From 5 to 300 usd adsense revenue per day in two months

    Hi,

Here are few advices for adsense newbies (I am not anymore one, but either an expert), that allowed me to climb from about * 5 usd per day to about 300 in two months.

I started the 29th of june this year, and my goal was just to try. The first day, I got 5 usd. Then I put adsense on all my pages and it climbed to 14 usd. After that I bought one of those adsense courses for 29 usd.

I learned there almost everything I know about it, especially that:

    - the 468*60 format is not as effective as the square box (250*250).
    - the ads should be inside the page rather than in the upper part.
-the colors of the ads should be similar to the colors of the website
    - one ad box with only 3 ads is preferable to 3 ad boxes with 4 ads, because only the best paying ads are displayed.
    - it is profitable to create pages targeting high-paying keywords (finance-related, seo, etc.)
    - the link ad unit is effective (almost half of my revenues)
    - it is effective to monitor the performances of the pages and transfer traffic through serp and website structure to the most profitable
    - a google search box can be added (just 1% of my revenues, but it is an additionnal service to your website).

That gives, for example a page such as: http://www.centreurope.org/france/cr...ing-france.htm

There is just one thing I have read in the adsense course and that I would not advise. They write that if you create a page with very little content, the probability of receiving clicks is high. It is true. But it also increases the risk of having your adsense account closed.

I have noticed that the revenues are increasing almost proportionnally with the traffic (especially when your website deals with many different topics, countries, etc.), so now I am working at generating more traffic in order to be granted a premium google adsense account. And to reach the 4-digit revenue a day I also try to give more content to my visitors with mostly commercial services, which reduces the probability of seing my adsense account closed and lower the importance of adsense in my total ad revenues (in French, we say it is not good having all our eggs in the same basket).

This is all I know of Adsense. I sincerely hope that it will serve members of this forum as profitably as it has served me these last 2 months.

    david

    * I write "about" because I do not want to give the exact figures, as it is explicitely prohibited by Google.

Default From 5 to 300 usd adsense revenue per day in two months

On my old website i have been testing a number of formats and positions with adsense. I used to change everything every few days or so with no luck. I was about to give up when i have managed to increase my clicks ten fold when i rearranged the ads for the last time.

I have tested the same arrangement on my new website that looks almost identical to the old one and it did not work. Infact it was the lowest CTR in ages.

So my point is: You should experiment with your ads, colours/formats/positioning... Remember the arrangements that worked best so that you can always go back to them.
How can you get results if you don't give time for stats to come in? I'd say at least a week if possible before trying something else.

Also, don't change everything everytime, you won't know what change did give you better results. One modification at a time, take notes of the results and what the change was and repete. It's a binary process, see if this works, if not, try something else.

Wll, this thread IS old, but the most recent statements are still timely imo...

    >"How can you get results if you don't give time for stats to come in? I'd say at least a week if possible before trying something else."<

That's true for many/most websites - but if someone's getting 1000s of uniques per day, then they can test placement etc much faster than the average webmeister getting hits below or around 100 per day (for instance)...

Of course results can depend on how many 'new' visitors you get every day compared to 'return' visitors as well...

If uniques are overwhelmingly new visitors, then the results of changing adsense placement/color etc will be more "pure" - each of them is assumedly seeing your page for the first time so after a 1000 or 10000 such visits, you can pretty well tell which AdSense configuration is best.

However, if most of your hits come from repeat visitors (especially from "regulars" - kinda like Norm on TV's Cheers. lol) then even a fantastic configuration will eventually slow down... because visitors are use to seeing them and will be susceptible to banner/ad blindness.

And in that case, mixing up the configuration or a least periodically rearranging it to a different looking good placement might result in a resurregence of clicks - even moreso if you "block" the top advertisers ads from appearing, if those ads are always the same from day to day...

...in other words, if the same ads show again and again, then regular visitors who were genuinely interested in that product/service have probably already clicked on it - and hopefully purchased *Grin* - so no placements would motivate those visitors to click on the same ad again, regardless of how noticeable the ad is.

    >...the link unit works better because it does not seem like an ad but a link to more content so people are more likely to click them.... also help to blend in the ads to your site with out violating any google rules.<

Along those same lines, I believe Google is less strict on how Link Ads are displayed on a webpage compared to what you can "get away with" regarding the standard adsense ads. Therefore you should be able to really blend Link Ads into the design of your site.

I'm of that opinion - as are others - because clicking on the actual Link Ads produces no income and no charge to advertisers. It simply takes them to a second page that lists the relevant Adsense Ads. And that page is clearly shown to be a list of ads and was "designed" by Google itself. So if your visitors click on THOSE ads, then it should be due to legitimate interest and not because they were fooled into thinking the links were something else.

    Just my delurked 2 cents.

    -Steve

yes, I think the large rectangle shows four links at most (one in each corner or quadrant for you nerds). While the 250sq may display less, I get the impression that the links are more relevant and worth more/click. I think this is because the lack of a huge number of links inspires competition in advertisers.
    Competition = success!
