Nope. Really, I have nothing to add, but not so addicted to buying new games.

Back when I had a PS2, I bought several games upfront, and they are still sealed (Final Fantasy XII comes to mind) today (to its credit, the first week it was available it was on sale for $35 at TRU.)

I sort of laid off buying new games after Halo 3 came out... and I've yet to play more than an hour of it.

I'm picky as $60 is allot to me. ANd since the wife just got laid off (2nd time this year) I have to be more cautious. Right now I'm set on only two, Red Faction and Ghostbusters. I'd love to grab Damnation, Fuel and UFC but just gota watch the $$$$.

I have been getting a little bit better about it recently and shown some willpower to not get stuff right away, but I do indeed suffer from the same "get it now" mentality for games anad DVD's.
I can't count how many DVD's I own that I bought release week and are still sitting on my shelf unopened (sometimes years later) and can be had dirt cheap now. Same for video games.

Depends. It's a harder to find a good game than it a good movie. But I've lucked out with trade ins.

My normal MO for games was to buy them, beat them and sell them on eBay and generally break even or pay just a bit in the end.

There are suckers on Ebay that will pay full price for a used game? Why wouldn't they just go to Best Buy, Wal*Mart or whatever and buy it new?

Not at all. I've spent $60 (or thereabouts) on new games only sparingly: LBP, Halo 3, GTAIV, Bioshock, Rock Band, and Rock Band 2 are all that come to mind in the past two years.

I got RB2 the week of release used at GS for under $40 (with their 30% coupon + another 10% from EDGE). Sometimes, Gamestop is not *completely* useless.

I swore i would never buy a new game on release week. Then on Wednesday i decided to buy Infamous

I thought to myself it will probably be half price in a few months. But soon I realized the game is an exclusive Sony game. Those games take forever to drop in price unlike multiplatform games. I expect Prototype to drop quick.

I've started trolling the Target clearance. Granted, I work there, so it's kind of my job to check in on that every so often (... kinda). But I realize most games that hit the deep discount at 75% off are going to be the big games that we stocked deep in. Just this week Street Fighter 4 was $37, and I had a 10% Red Card bonus and my 10% employee discount. That's about $30, but I told myself to hold off--if it hits deep discount, I'll get it, if not, oh well, it wasn't meant to be.

When it does hit the 75% off rack, I can play through it in about 2 weeks, and usually they're still new enough at that point that I can flip it for about a $5 profit... I'm addicted to that (note, I never buy a game with the sole intention of flipping it, I always play it, although some like Sonic Unleashed I got super pissed off at and posted it on Ebay before beating).

Damn Gamestop and their B2G1 sale.

I added 6 games today. I need help.

I know what ya mean. I spent almost $200 on the sale, but I didn't buy Infamous! lol I know it will be available the next time Gamestop has this sale. They had a 20% sale a few weeks, and I really wanted to find a used copy of Wolverine. No dice, but this weekend, I found 10 copies of the game. So I managed to get Wolverine, Bionic Commando and Star Ocean for $107.

Course, June is going to be a hard month to ignore with Red Faction, Prototype, Fuel, Ghostbusters and Call of Jurez!
