Default "Favorite" Video Game Tournament ROUND #4 - Elite 8

I kept the poll open until Tuesday at this time. Hopefully all the 4 day weekenders who want to vote will see this in time. Interesting that each of the top 4 games made it.

How can Super Mario Bros 3 be beating Super Mario World. World is a better game on every conceivable level.

What orangecrush said. SMW perfected everything Mario 3 introduced. It felt like a more polished experience. Plus you have all the cool 16-bit gimmicks and the introduction of Yoshi.

It's 'favorite', not 'best'. I was more into 3 than World. Hated Yoshi too.

Yeah, I didn't really care for Yoshi either. I think the memories of finding warp whistles, toad houses, and The Wizard all make Mario 3 a more memorable experience

The Wizard helped too...or did it hurt it.

Either way, if we only voted on 'best' then there's no way that arguably the two greatest games of the fourth generation (Zelda: Link to the Past and Super Metroid) would lose to a party game and a puzzle game.

If Rock Band 2 is so great, why did it lose EA millions and millions of dollars?

Multi-player yes. Single player no. Bioshock was original both in story and in art design.I'd still give the edge to Half Life 2 over Bioshock. While Bioshock was quality through and through, it didn't have the variety of locals and the sense of progression that HL2 did. Heck, I'd put System Shock ahead of Bioshock.

Well, it's a good thing it's a favorite video game tournament, and not a best video game tournament.

I thought BioShock was an excellent game, and enjoyed it immensely. However, I don't think it's something I'd play through on a whim, as I've already played it three times (once for each ending, and once on Hard).

If you saved them all the first time around you could just load your last save, kill one, and get the other ending.

It's good, but it has no business still being in this mix. It wasn't even the best game of its year (Super Mario Galaxy).

From what I remember, even though they were neck and neck for most everyone, I think Bioshock actually walked away with more GOTY wins than SMG.
