Anyone with a bandwidth capped server with leaseweb, be warned!

I got a shocker from leaseweb with this month's invoice. Looks like I have been charged at a ridiculous rate of 1 Euro/GB (!!) for having exceeded the 4 TB bandwidth cap on my server by a mere 291 GB.

I contacted them thinking it could have been a mistake. They promptly replied with - "sorry, that's what our Terms state".

To think that I have been their customer for 4 months now and am being made use of like this leaves a bad taste in the mouth to say the least.

Of course, I should have gone through their terms but then 1 Euro per GB?!! Surely, that's unreasonable. What's worse is that there was no email notification or anything when I crossed the limit. Apparently, I had to login to control panel, dig deep and go through the hassle of setting up notifications there! One would think it would be obvious that a customer would want to be automatically notified of going beyond the bw limit right? Leaseweb obviously thinks otherwise.

Now I have another 291 Euro to cough up along with the other bills, oh well.

Of course, I'm going to cancel my server with them. Bye bye leaseweb and anyone that have a server with them, please be warned!
