I'll probably be purchasing a new server soon and I am trying to compare two offers - from SoftLayer and from Hivelocity.

It's a Xeon 1230, 8GB RAM and two 500GB disks in RAID 1 with some extras (100 Mbps, CPanel, extrernal storage, ...).

For rougly the same deal SL quotes $378 while Hivelocity quotes $222.

Why such a price difference? Is SL that better?

I've been with SL for several years but I'm not sure if paying 70% more for the same thing is worth it? Or am I missing something?
